I bought this right before a business trip to China in November. After a month of pretty steady use, I am very pleased with the performance. It takes excellent pictures and the video capability is very good. It is nice to have the ability to capture video footage without needing a second device. The rechargeable battery life is very good. There are a lot of different options to choose from on the menu and the zoom is quite good. I would recommend this camera to anyone that wants a realtively low cost camera.

Compact, fine photos, OK videos, blue snow scenes Mar 03, 2011

Quite compact, very small for a ten times optical zoom, long lasting battery, extra wide angle -- which I prefer.
The video is fine in good light; noisy with poor color in low light. Even outdoors, on a cloudy day, video quality was a bit low due to low light. Only partial zoom function in video mode. I can zoom in, but not out again.
Also, the delay between pushing the button and taking th photo is quite noticeable. I miss a lot of shots when tracking kids.
Photo blues! The camera normally produces fine looking photos, even in relatively low light. However, sometimes low light photos are extremely blue. Almost monochrome blue. This is especially likely in snow scenes. One shot has normal color, the next is deep blue. Sometimes happens in low light indoors as well.
Overall, I enjoy this camera and get many fine photos because it is small and has a great zoom.

This camera is absolutely wonderful. It takes great pictures and has easy settings that allow you to get the optimal shot.
Pros: Excellent pictures
Not too heavy
Easy to use
Did I say excellent pictures?
Cons: Large camera, definitely not compact.

I bought this camera after reviewing Consumer Reports. My old digital camera was in need of being replaced and I love to take pics of my kids, family, etc. I wanted something simple and lightweight that I could toss in my purse and this camera has proven to be the Consumer Best Buy it promised. It takes great pics and is very easy to use.
